Frequently Asked Questions

Which hill station is best for families with kids?

Nainital is the easiest choice — boating, a zoo, cable car rides and short flat walks. Mussoorie also works well, with more shopping and food on Mall Road to keep everyone occupied.

Which hill station is best for couples or a honeymoon?

Mussoorie, and Landour in particular, has the cosy café and sunset-point atmosphere most couples are after. For privacy and snow views, Auli or Chopta are better. We also arrange honeymoon add-ons such as candlelight dinners.

Can we see snow?

Yes. Auli has reliable snow from December to March and is the place to go for skiing. Chopta stays snow-covered from November to March. Mussoorie and Nainital get occasional snowfall in January and February.

Is it safe to drive to hill stations?

Yes, but hill roads need an experienced driver. All our drivers are locals who know these routes well. We do not recommend self-driving if you are not used to mountain roads.

How far are these hill stations from Delhi?

Lansdowne is 250 km (about 6 hours), Mussoorie 280 km (6–7 hours), Nainital 300 km (7–8 hours), Ranikhet 350 km (8–9 hours), Chopta 450 km and Auli 500 km, the last two usually with a night halt on the way.

Can we combine multiple hill stations?

Absolutely. Our Kumaon Explorer covers Nainital, Ranikhet, Kausani and Almora in 5–6 days, and we can build any other combination around the time you have.
